Egyptian Cotton (#D8D1C5, LRV 64), a soft warm greige from the UK range, comes very close to Sherwin-Williams Taupe of the Morning SW 9590 and Behr Offbeat T14-7, with Farrow & Ball Stirabout No. 300 also very close but a touch further off. Can the app tell me which Dulux colour is already on my wall?
It names the Dulux colours closest to what the camera sees. Aim at a flat patch away from glare and shadow, and in warm or dim rooms use Calibrated Match with a white reference in the frame so the reading is corrected for the colour of your light. Faded or touched-up walls can land between two shades, so compare the top few results.
Why don't Dulux UK and Dulux Australia colours match?
They are separate ranges made for different markets. Natural White is an Australian and New Zealand colour that is not in the UK range, and the name Timeless belongs to a soft white in the UK (#F0EDE4) but a pale aqua in Australia (#B1D9DB). The app keeps Dulux, Dulux Australia and Dulux New Zealand as separate colour books, so pick the one sold where you will buy the paint.
Can I buy Egyptian Cotton or Natural White in another brand?
You can buy a close match, not the same paint. Both colours have very close Sherwin-Williams and Behr equivalents, close enough that they are generally hard to tell apart side by side. Still check a tester pot from the other brand, because a different base and sheen change how a colour reads on the wall.
Is Paint Color Match made by Dulux?
No. Paint Color Match is an independent app and is not affiliated with Dulux, AkzoNobel or DuluxGroup. Colour names and values come from each brand's published colour information, and screens vary, so confirm a match with the manufacturer's own tester. The app is free to download; the full colour library with cross-brand alternatives is part of Pro.
